System Purge Download

Purge air from hydraulic system after draining oil or changing the filter.

WARNING:

WARNING: AVOID INJURY.

This adjustment requires operating the engine. Use extreme care to avoid contact with moving parts and hot surfaces. Be sure rear of unit is well supported and secure before starting engine.

Steps 1 - 4
  1. Park unit facing a wall or chock wheels.
  2. Release parking brake.
  3. Support unit so drive wheels are off the ground.
  4. Turn lower bypass valve two complete turns counter-clockwise to the bypass position. See Figure 23.
Steps 5 - 8
  1. With drive handles in neutral position, start engine and move throttle to fast position. Allow engine to run for one minute, as this allows charge pump to fill hoses to hydraulic motors.
  2. Check hydraulic oil level and refill to the proper level.
  3. Move left steering lever fully forward. If cavitation noise is heard:
    1. Move left steering lever to neutral position and allow throttle to remain in fast position and allow throttle to remain in fast position for 30 more seconds.
    2. Return left steering lever to forward position. Ensure that left side is running properly (no cavitation noise is heard and motor output shaft is rotating smoothly).
  4. Check hydraulic oil level and refill to the proper level.
Steps 9 - 11
  1. Move right steering lever fully forward. If cavitation noise is heard:
    1. Move right steering lever to neutral position and allow throttle to remain in fast position for 30 more seconds.
    2. Return right steering lever to forward position. Ensure that right side is running properly (no cavitation noise is heard and motor output shaft is rotating smoothly).
  2. Move right steering lever to neutral position.
  3. Turn lower bypass valve two complete turns clockwise to the operating position.
Steps 12 - 14
  1. Move right steering lever fully forward. If cavitation noise is heard, bypass transaxles and repeat steps 9 -11.
  2. Check hydraulic oil and refill to the proper level.
  3. Move steering levers rearward and check for smooth operation.
